Daniel Noonan 1990 – 1997
Arguably Clarence’s greatest modern footballer playing in 3 Clarence Premiership Teams and winning 2 William Leitch Medals. Daniel captained Clarence in 3 of those Premierships and was an integral part of the Clarence Team from 1994 until he departed to Queensland in 1997. Daniel’s work ethic on the football field is legendary, on many occassions opposition teams had to run multiple taggers just to keep up with him. Daniel played a memorable part in the 1997 upset premiership win over Burnie – bursting through the centre and kicking two fantastic goals as the game hung in the balance.
Daniel returned to Tasmania in early 2001 and is still involved in football on a casual basis. He lives in Howrah with his wife Lisette and children Matilda and Darcy.

Why is the first word there ??? Surely it is not required
Daniel Noonan was a thug, and did respect twos playeys. In fact he made jokes with other senior members of the club of not even knowing any of their names, he also used to punch them when the coach was not looking. Daniel Noonan is an individual who broke bathroom sinks and toilets at the Peachy St clubrooms and then blamed it on Peter Ricci. Jason Ring was a much better bloke than him.
Ben,
I thought we were friends
Danny I just want to say on your behalf that you never belted anyone that didn’t deserve it. Ricky Ponting was gagging for it, so was Marcus Todman, the ‘Lady’ (easily mistaken fo a bloke) at the Pie shop in Launceston did knowingly served cold pies and deserved what she had coming to her also and if you had of been outside Wrest Point at your wedding I had 5 or 6 guys lined up for you. Ben Merideth was a jealous individual who now spends his life peddling death. So just ignore him…
Danny,
Please accept my apology for the above outburst. I went off without finding out the facts first. It seems Grant is still struggling to find ways to overcome his fear of confrontation by now hiding behind other peoples logins. Its very sad that since his departure from the public eye he cannot find his worth in life. If it means anything at all i am still Danny Noonan in the backyard at home when i kick the ball by myself.
Thanks for the apology Ben
An update on Grant – he is very upset about a report in the Mercury yesterday that the Devils were conducting a far reaching search for a replacement coach next season. They mentioned around 4,000 potentential coaches and Grant was not one of them. I think Dean Chiron and Peter Daniel were listed. Grant is considering his legal options.
I got asked two, Danny. I gotten a letter and e opnd it and it was all official and such. No mention of my mentor Grant Flagan though…gotta go and brush me teef…
hey might have been a good player ,but when i think of danny noonan i think of the day he hit wes lewis from north launceston who didnt even see it coming.
